There is a lot more to iodine than we think. The thyroid hormones existed in cold-blooded sea creatures long before the thyroid evolved to help warm-blooded animals regulate their thermostat. Even in reptiles, cold-blooded animals, the thyroid existed to grow tissue and bone. What this means is that iodine, in the thyroid hormones, has a lot of other functions than helping the thyroid gland. We will study those actions; plus we will offer the keys to treatment of hyper and hypothyroid.
